What are the best primary schools in the north, central, east, west of Singapore?
What is considered best can be relative to your child and their needs, (see: our article on how to choose a primary school) however, being aware of a school’s standing and their popularity can help make the decision making process a little easier.
The following list is sorted according to the school’s popularity in Phase 2A of the 2022 Primary One (P1) registration process. It is further categorised by different regions in Singapore to assist you in locating a school within your estate, along with each school’s overall ranking.
Parents can keep in mind that certain schools offer certain specially formulated curriculums. In particular, the Special Assistance Plan (SAP) and the Gifted Education Programme (GEP).
Special Assistance Plan (SAP) Schools
If you place a larger emphasis on the Chinese language and its related culture, the SAP is a programme that prioritises the teaching of the Chinese language and culture. This programme would be ideal for students who excel in Chinese and seek a comprehensive Chinese educational experience.
Gifted Education Programme (GEP) Schools
As its name suggests, the GEP is for gifted and talented students. These students can opt for a specialised curriculum specifically tailored to their abilities.
Not all schools provide these programmes so it might be worthwhile to keep an eye out if this is something you or your child is interested in.
